Same here. When I write a message while TB checks mail, the screen
will freeze but I can continue typing, and when the mail check is
finished, the typed letters will appear.

I don't encounter this.

OK, this uses CPU time, but that's understandable.

I think every program needs time to boot up.

I didn't try this.

But I have another one:

- Double-clicking or hitting <enter> on a message in the message list
in order to open a folder view takes several seconds. Purge&compress,
disk defragging and deleting the hundreds of .tmp files helps a bit
but not much. I have this problem only on my Win98 machine, not on XP.

The only plugin I use is MyGate. But it's not an "isntalled" plugin,
it runs seperately as a gateway.
