You are not alone. Among my first complaints here, during the
evaluation phase of my acquaintance with The Bat!, was that I could
not understand the Help file. It will tell you what something
does--ocasionally in words that mean something to a newcomer--but it
never tells you *where* to find anything or *how* to use it in a way
that the steps are easily followed.

So, this list and the other TB! lists, plus tbot--those are your Help
file.

Some pluses: We are actually live people (a few Geeks and Cyborgs--I'm
probably turning into a Geek from associating with them). And most of
us have experienced similar problems to those you are trying to
tackle.

In defense of RitLabs: the improvements that are being made in The
Bat! are coming along so rapidly that any Help file would soon be
obsolete. I consider that I am running an obsolete version, and I have
the latest Full Release.

Several mildly annoying deficiencies in the version I'm running have
already been fixed in the latest beta versions. RC/3 is now being
discussed on tbbeta. I look for the full public release very shortly.

And *then* more things will start to receive the Bat Team's attention
for improvement.

You are not alone in being disappointed in Bayesit. I didn't even try
it when I saw some of the longest-term, most skilled Bat users
complaining about it.

But I encourage you to stay with us. The Bat! is very likely the best
e-mail program available today.

Everyone is here to help you!
