I switched to google's GMAIL some weeks ago. Found it very usable, it does threading (conversations - it aggregates a thread into one browsable entity), spell-checking (in English only), and I can reach my mailbox from everywhere which I couldn't quite manage with TB+IMAP. As currently it's webmail only (but POP3/IMAP is being considered) I'd only recommend to persons with 24/7 online access at the moment.
