Do a search on your drive for Bat! temp files left behind in some (perhaps
unknown) circumstances).

Search for *bat*.*tmp*

Bat! came to a slow death from me, 100% cpu usage; I found >38,000 temp
files! Deleted all these, now everything is fine again.
