"CIFnet" is one clue. "Please keep the password remembered (it was entered by you in the registration form)." is another. None of the moderators can help - we have no relationship with RITlabs. CIFnet are a 3rd party reseller, from whom you bought a licence - RITlabs have no records of that transaction, hence no email address on file. The old "buy a new key for $3" scheme is long finished. RIT no longer sell nor supply licences for v1. V3 is the only version you can buy a key for and not as a $3 replacement. Your *only* recourse, having lost, forgotten or failed in whatever manner to retain the password that unlocks your v1 is to retrieve the original SoftwareRegistrationID key from the system registry using regedit (as described to you) - and I will try again below - or to buy a v3 key. Installing v3 over your current system is an option that would have been made much simpler had you decided to attempt it earlier. Suitable system backups would have ensured no data loss. What you should have done was to install an interim 1.62 update - the final v1 release. That would have converted your mailbase to a format that v3 can assimilate without error. All of the harbingers of doom about risks of corruption have done you few favours. Okay - so much for the "should haves". If you still have access to the system registry on the old system, use RegEdit to navigate to HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\RIT\The Bat!\ as you did before. This time *click on that folder*. The right hand panel of the RegEdit screen fills with the Keys. One is the SoftwareRegistrationId. It isn't a folder. It's a key within the folder. Not that it will help you to make use of it from there per-se. What you should do is to export the whole "The Bat!" folder using Regedit's File..Export function. Run up the resulting .reg file on the new system and you should be instantly registered. Failing this, upgrade, in stages, to v3 via 1.62 and buy an update for v3. That will get you up, running and up to date all at once. I hope this helps somewhat. Sorry if the tone seems a little harsh in places but I do notice a number of self-inflicted wounds here! -- Cheers -- //.arck D Pearlstone -- List moderator and fellow end user TB! v3.0.2.10 on Windows XP 5.1.2600 Service Pack 2 '
