What do you mean no option to search. You have all searching options at your disposal.
The search dialog doesn't seem to work since there's no progress bar to look at and it always claims the search is complete. However, if you wait, the matching messages eventually appear. Uncomfortable interface issues, I grant you.
The alt-click and quick searching also work.
