In the office, I have over 100,000 messages in the archive account
(similar idea as MAU, but not password protected). Each folder there
has under 20,000 messages, some even only a couple of hundred. No
slowdown when I work out of the archive account.

The main accounts don't have folders, all message sit in the Inbox.
the biggest one now has 17,000 and I am thinking of deleting old
messages, as they are in the archive anyway. However, I experience no
slowdon either.

Using 3.62.14 in the office.

Daily.

In addition to maintenance, I defrag my HD regularly. Fragementing
seems to be a source of slowdown.

Also, check whether you have a lot of messages named bat*.tmp in the
temp directory on your HD. This slows down TB as well.

This being Easter Sunday, we will ask Mrs. Lewis to come forward and
lay an egg on the alter.
