I'm experimenting with using filters for read messages. I've been filtering incoming mail for some time with good success. My goal is to have mail from common people or domains automatically go to the proper folder after I'm done with it.
I started with people who I often receive mail from. I set up a few filters and noticed that the messages filter automatically, using a pattern that I'm not aware of. Sometimes I had read the message but wasn't done with it. I then had to hunt down the message and process it. Since then I turned all the filters to manual, to make sure that I choose when to filter the mail. So now I have a few questions for the experts! - If 'Manual' is not selected, when is mail filtered in a folder? - Will mail filter out of *any* folder? If so, I guess I can use a condition to only filter out of the Inbox. - I put a button on the toolbar to refilter. It's now 3 clicks to filter a folder (Refilter button, OK, Close). Is there any way to have the refilter process run without as much interaction (fewer clicks)?
