Dear Colleagues, Once again I may be bothering you but this is very important to note this in this group as some very critical 'decision makers' often are seen here to advise others what to do. Here's a recently published paper available in IEEEXplore:
Xuemei You, "Research on the Intrusion Detection System in Wireless Mesh Networks", Second International Conference on Computer Modeling and Simulation, 2010. ICCMS '10 http://ieeexplore.ieee.org/search/srchabstract.jsp?tp=&arnumber=5421509&openedRefinements%3D*%26filter%3DAND%28NOT%284283010803%29%29%26searchField%3DSearch+All%26queryText%3Dintrusion+detection+systems+in+wireless+mesh+network At least as a reader of the topic, I can say it's a non-sense and very likely an auto-generated paper using SciGen ( http://pdos.csail.mit.edu/scigen/). The current conference website that previously published this may be this one: http://www.iccms.org/iccms2010.htm (please correct me if I am wrong, apologies if I hurt anybody by wrongly mentioning things). It's not a blame game. It must be understood that there are highs and lows in any field. Low-quality things often support high-quality things by proving their status low. So, accept those as they are. Some people must need venues like those. Somebody noted about some organizations previously who are allegedly destroying the reputation of so-and-so organization. But, my concern is that whether IEEE approves all the papers in IEEEXplore or not, why would I get such a paper in my area (or at least as a reader of the topic or as a naive person who wants to know) that is an auto-generated rubbish? Often some of you reply here or personally email with very awry remarks and sharp comments. There are seniors and juniors here. This email does not need any reply but what is needed is that while a standard is claimed, we should also try to maintain the standard. While others may be doing things in their styles, have I checked my own style? this paper must be removed from IEEEXplore Digital Library, whatever the conference level was or whoever was associated with such-and-such exchange of money. The paper has the CLEAR MARK: IEEE Computer Society, 2010. Hope I am clear.
