I just got off of the bus here at Foley park and ride and first noticed
the damn 8.5x11 sheets of paper on everyones cars. Actually, I noticed
about 30-40 on the ground, flying around in the light wind. I fully
expected it to be another leaflet for a refinancing company. I couldn't
believe my eyes when it was spam from MetroTransit about their State
Fair bus service. I mean, we are *on* the bus every day. We see the ad
on the bus and in the "Takeout" flyer too. I *don't* need to get this
sort of thing attached to my car, and the resulting litter that greatly
affects the climate around the park and ride. I *definately* do NOT
want my tax money going towards this sort of litter.

So, I've got some questions:

Isn't this illegal? Is there some notice I can affix to my drivers side
window telling these people to go away or be litigated and actually mean
something?

Is there anyone from MetroTransit or Met Council on this forum that can
prepare an official response to this sort of marketing? Can Met Council
please advise us if they plan on using this in the future depending on
public response?

Does anyone else out there get driven nuts about this (essentially)
trashing of park and rides?

Of course, many people do not just take them off, but if it rains or if
they just dont care (imagine!) it ends up *on the ground*. (Espically if
its something like the religious one I got when I lived near Rosedale
that was a big mushy newspaper.) I don't care if its biodegradable, its
visually awful. I hope MetroTransit charges other physical spammers to
clean up their mess. I hope MetroTransit will *stop* doing this and
wasting the tax dollar.
