Or, as I suggested offline to Anne, just print to PDF from the PDF. Of course, you could lose some PDF functionality along with losing the hidden text. My preliminary test worked fine. Just make sure you validate your own process to make sure the hidden stuff isn't still there and you don't break something you need/want.
