I wanted to mention that I took Bill's advice and looked into the
SamLogic CD Menu Creator, which I found to be very effective. I was able
to create what I think was a very professional looking menu, and I was
able to offer users options to open PDFs, link to websites, or run
applications. The ramp-up time was zero - it's very intuitive, which was
a BIG plus since I had no time *and* no idea what I was doing.
The trial version had limited functionality - the CD Menus that are
created are only good on the creation day, so I did end up paying for
the full version. I believe it was $59.95. I was on a very tight
deadline and had already created the whole menu before I realized the
limitations. But I'm certainly not sorry that I did it, as I think I
will be getting a lot of use out of the application.
So thanks Bill, and thanks everyone, for the good advice. I learned
quite a bit on that thread that I'll be putting to good use when I'm not
dealing with such tight time constraints.
