No, it's more in line with an online journal in which there is usually
one author and readers are allowed (in most cases) to comment.

You dn't have to subscribe to a blog to read it. For example, click
the link for mine in my sig below. You'll find you can read and even
comment without subscribing.

It's an online journal, though they are gaining considerable
credibility in many arenas, to the point where magazines are getting
nervous as individual bloggers are winning advertisers on their own
blogs. Why publish in someone else's rag when you can go it alone?
