(Sent to HATT as well)

Hi,

We have an omni-everything programmer who wants to document the
product using tooltips and only tooltips. Can anyone point me to
third-party document that explains why this is a bad idea?

My boss would like me to throw together some discussion and samples of
c-s online help, screen caps or such, with a discussion of each.

For example,

CHM -- supports WhatIsThis help -- SP2 issues in Windows -- security
issues from a server -- HTML based

Web(Works)Help -- supports WhatIsThis help -- HTML based -- requires
programming to an API

WinHelp -- supports WhatIsThis help -- RTF based -- requires manual
viewer download and installation for VISTA

Vista Help -- fuggeduboudit, not available yet

JavaHelp -- supports WhatIsThis help -- Sun or Oracle -- requires
JavaRuntime -- requires programming to an API

So, before I do all of that and create samples for screen captures and
such, does this info. exist anywhere else? Anyone have a document that
can save me the time it will take to reinvent the wheel?

Thanks,

Sean
