I wouldn't necessarily generalize that way. Did I offend? On the scale of global technical writing problems, 0 being nothing at all and 100 being, I dunno, two spaces after a period, I consider accent versus diacritic to be ... a 2. A Friday trivial thing. No battle actually, not even a war. Nope, none, just a discussion.
