Hey Kevin, Here's a low-tech suggestion: not for a phone, but for your safety. First, just holding up your fist might be a better gesture. Second, buy or make a walking staff or stick. I remember reading about a study that indicated drivers tend to steer away from pedestrians who are carrying something that can do damage to a car. Even carrying an umbrella helps. My theory is that a stick raises the risk factor to an unacceptable level for the driver. The stick give you a way to retaliate without getting hurt. When a car looks menacing, holding a stave about windshield height gives the driver a hint. On top of that, a walking stick is supposed to be good for your upper body and encourages dogs to give you a wider berth. If they don't, they'll learn quickly.

(was: Friday nuttiness... I walk a lot (12-kilometer commute three to five times per week), and I've appreciated the 2 megapixel camera in my phone a couple of times when I've given the finger (or worse) to people who have either tried to run me over, or almost ran me over without really trying. When I'm preparing to cross certain intersections, or when I'm walking certain roads where stupidity/nastiness has happened, I hold the phone in one hand with the camera ready. When somebody risks my life (or just p***es me off) I take several pictures. Kevin ______________________________________________ Author Help files and create printed documentation with Doc-To-Help.
