Good Thoughts for the Day
Never put off happiness because theres no time like the pleasant.

=====================================
Tip of the Day
Provided by Mrs. ABC's Spelling and Phonics Curriculum site at
http://www.mrsabc.com.
(Thank you for allowing us to use your tips of the day.)

Have your children make long coils from playdoh. Form the letters from the
coils that are necessary to spell each word from a spelling list. Your
children should then trace over each letter with their index finger as the
word is spelled orally.

Two astronaut monkeys, Able and Baker, inside Jupiter rocket were rescued.

Astronaut Animals
Scientists were concerned about the unknown effects of weightlessness and
other space environments on human astronauts. Thus, animals were launched
into space before any humans. The following paragraphs describe some of the
earliest animals astronauts. Today animals and insects are still launched
into space as part of the space program.

Patrick Henry
The American political leader Patrick Henry was the most celebrated orator
of the American Revolution. He was born on May 29, 1736, in Hanover County,
Virginia. Henry failed as both a storekeeper and a farmer before being
admitted to the Virginia bar in 1760. However, he won fame in 1763 after his
impassioned pleading in the Parsons' Cause, a case in which he defended the
right of the colony to fix the price of the tobacco in which the clergy were
paid, despite a contrary ruling from London.

The first person to reach the summit of Mt. Everest was Sir Edmund Hillary
and Tenzing Norkey.

Mount Everest
As M. Dunham wrote, "Sir Edmund Hilary was the first person to conquer Mt.
Everest. The first time he tried, he failed. He was knighted by the Queen of
England, and at the gala occasion, on the wall behind the head table, was a
huge picture of Mt. Everest. The people gave him a standing ovation for even
daring to attempt the climb. When they ceased applauding, Hilary turned his
back to the audience, faced that picture and said, "Mt. Everest, you have
defeated me once and you might defeat me again.
