This is an interesting yet badly flawed diversion. You state that Mead
a sociologist " viewed both "mind" and "self " as processes." Are
you claiming that processes are not real things? Or that you do not know Mead. Have you forgotten the response to Thomas Scheff's "Labeling Theory. I met many sociologists working in mental health who took a clear position that the mind was not real. The same is true of alcoholism. Also I have reviewed many grants for the federal government that included those claiming to be sociologists aided in the treatment of mental illness. Back to the central point what breakthroughs do we have in sociology. Rehashing whether what Mead called a process is real or not is the same old same ole diversion. Del klausner wrote:
