I would make the argument that if we want students to think outside of the box we need to change the boxs. The classroom is a box. The texts are boxs. Teaching is when compared to learning and instruction another box. Most into texts start by claiming that all sociology comes in three boxs. We through to make reality which is fuzzy neat and orderly. The aftermath of Kristina and 911 were the spin of those who could not think out of the box... We couldn't imagine they would use planes as missiles...... we couldn't imagine that the levies would break
The 3 R's are a box.

We are learning to read, adopt and think inside boxs that are no longer able to help us face or anticipate. We apparently can't
see what is in front of us because it is out of the box.
