Two questions you may be able to help me with.
1. Because I am teaching soc without an endorsement, and with the NCLB laws I either need to get a soc major this year or take the Praxis test in soc. I'm opting for the Praxis. Has anyone taken it? I was wondering what it was like. I've only ever taken one college soc class, but I taught it at the HS level last year. (this year is a little smoother than last)
2. The school offers honors soc and it is taught with my regular soc class, I'm just supposed to give them extra work. This year I have about 30 honors students total (I don't know why I couldn't have just gotten an honors class) and don't want to assign essays like I did last year. Any suggestions for something that can be done fairly independently but also won't take forever to grade? Those of you that teach college, what could I do with these kids to help prepare them for next year?
