Any chance your firewall has an access list that limits what machines originate SMTP? I usually set a rule like that to stop any bots that may get on an internal machine. If so, maybe it is keeping the copiers from being able to get past the firewall?

Worked fine with the internal exchange server. Our copier rep is supposed to work with the lanier guy to see if there is a solution.
