For what it's worth, Our laptops use the 90w, the Dell netbooks have a 65w here.

A couple google searches say that I need a 90W power brick, but,....it's always used a 65W and they are both DELL Originals. Some pages say it will not charge with a Non -Dell 65W. But mine are Dell and they came with 65W, so,....go figure. Scott Scott Williams wrote: Boy, I've gone through all the gyrations, if it's the MB then it's toast, just an old Latitude 100L. Thanks for suggestions. Scott Bill Kampmeyer wrote: Hey Scott! I have seen battery and charging circuit get out of sync. Shutdown the laptop, unplug the laptop, remove the battery. Plug in laptop, turn on laptop finally replace battery. Charging may resume. Sometimes just pulling and replacing the battery with a fully booted system also does it or some magic combination. If the adapter and battery don't take care of it, then the next step is a new mainboard on ours. I cleaned it, and the machine would go into a endless reboot. I wiped it clear and reinstalled XP. It all worked until the battery died. Put in a new battery, now it's slowly discharging but working! I suspected the Power adapter, hooked up a new one, both showed a green light. But it appears the battery is not charging. What have I missed here? Scott -- Scott R.
