I also have these issues with a few teachers who remote in with
Smartboards. They complain that they have to re-calibrate also.

I have multiple screens so this always happens when I connect. I also
have seen this happen when connected at a lower screen size. If you
connect at the same screen size as the host machine they should stay in
place but if you use multiple screens I think you are out of luck.

Subject: [tech-geeks] Windows 7 Remote Desktop Question

I remote into my work computer every day. When I return to my work
computer my Icons on the Desktop are always scattered all over the
place. I thought my remote connection was connecting at a lower
resolution and moving the Icons around to fit on the screen but don't
know for sure. It's like I have a scavenger hunt every day before my
first class. My question is, "How can I keep my Icons in one place?"
