That's a nice overall lens Joe but not only is it big but those types of lenses are not very fast f3.5 means you'll have a hard time taking unobtusive portraits indoors. I prefer a Prime 50mm lens which is a perfect size for portraits and is F1.4. People also swear by a 35mm for inside as well but I really like the 50mm, it's also a tiny lens which doesn't make people nervous,
