sorry I was just using domain in place of the 'real' name. Its actually www.tardiff.gotdns.com and no, nothing with MX records, however for these setups in the past I have never set the MX records either.
I am guessing that I would NOT be able to call the ISP to do this in any case as they have told the client (that has 4 business accounts with them and all Static IP's) they do not allow this service on their network. (Yet... they have had this for almost 10 years) -----Original Message----- From: tech-geeks-boun...@tech-geeks.org [mailto:tech-geeks-boun...@tech-geeks.org] On Behalf Of Aaron Hackney Sent: Tuesday, September 14, 2010 10:39 AM To: Tech-Geeks Mailing List Subject: Re: [tech-geeks] cannot ping mail.domain.com nslookup here is showing that www.domain.gotdns.com and mail.domain.gotdns.com are C-NAMES for domain.gotdns.com and the MX record that is coming back for gotdns.com is mx2.mailhop.org mx1.mailhop.org Did you set the MX records or are those default?
