I would expect that of an 8 year old kid of a tech-geek. It's genetic.

My wife is the computer go-to at her work, and my 8-year-old regularly helps
out his teacher with PC issues.

Ironically in my world the theory of IT can fix anything now extends to my
wife who is a teacher. Because she married me they assume she can fix
everything too.

So today our head maintenance person stopped me in the hallway and asked me
to look at the convection oven in the kitchen with him. Since computers and
convection ovens use electricity I guess I should be able to troubleshoot
ovens too. I didn't mind too much since I really didn't feel like going to
my office.

Imagine that.

I've got a couple that like to play the stock markets, but so far haven't
asked me to unblock anything. Probably because they aren't blocked

I had one of those also. He went so far as to put a sealed envelope in my
mail box asking if those sites could be unblocked. He was betting on
everything that moved. This was quite a few years ago.....he retired an is
working as a card dealer on the MO side....

Years ago I had a teacher ask me to unblock all his sports betting sites -
he really believed he had a right to "job perks". I refferred him to the
principal and never heard about it again.

You know, if we have a "request of the day" for every day, we'd have one
heck of a book at the end of the year.

I have several thoughts on how to answer that but,........
