i doubt its the login script, the syntax there is pretty much the same.  my
guess is its SLP related, especially if you have removed all your old
netware boxes.  when I went fully linux it took a bit to straighten out the
SLP.  OpenSLP on Suse linux behaves a bit differently than the old Netware
SLP.
