You get what you pay for.   Unfortunately a lot of employers think they can 
low-ball tech salaries due to the economy.  While they may get someone good 
initially, that person will be gone as soon as the economy picks up and they 
get a better offer.  In the end, it is going to cost them a lot more in 
turnover and training costs than they are “saving” by low-balling the salary.
