I have thought about that, but the connection on the dock may be only a dvi-d and not have the analog connectors on it so an adapter wouldn't work with it according to what I know.

This leads me to believe that it can support VGA with an adapter. When I talked to my rep, he said that there may be 3 different models of this same dock and that he wasn't sure which one I would get from them. I need something that can connect to a VGA cable so he can use the projector in his classroom which is connected via VGA. I could use the DVI connection on the projector but that would require buying a DVI cable just for his room. I could also just buy him extra power adapters for less money than the docking station and just have him plug everything directly into his laptop.
