From: tech-geeks-boun...@tech-geeks.org [mailto:tech-geeks-boun...@tech-geeks.org] On Behalf Of Bruce Brewer Sent: Friday, October 08, 2010 1:29 PM To: 'Tech-Geeks Mailing List' Subject: [tech-geeks] Infof about new smartboards The new Smart boards do not provide an integrated VGA cable from the projector to the control panel; we are now expected to provide our own cable from the computer all the way up through the arm to the projector. LAME and back if we want to use the computer monitor also. Always, in the previous boards, the cable that came with the boards had an integrated VGA cable in the cable that connected to the control panel of the board, all we had to do was provide a short VGA cable to connect the computer to the Smartboard control panel and the board was ready to use. Now, with the new design, no VGA cable is incorporated into the cable between the projector and the control panel, therefore rendering the board useless, as delivered. I called Smarttech twice and they were quite unhelpful and said that we have to provide a long VGA cable now from the computer up to the projector and back for the monitor to work. Both times we went round and round about how on my end the product had always been ready to use out of the box and now it is rendered useless, unless we ourselves purchase and provide the long VGA cables, which is what move the image form the computer to the projector and the board. There response was basically, well that the way it is now. At which I proceed to explain that the product is of no use to me, as is. To which they respond, is there anything else we can help you with today. NOT SMART, DUMB!
