The blame can be shared, that's for sure. You have a top go-to guy running a route...From that same Giants game, you can see open short route guys - with Cutler looking long.....at what I would assume to be the 'top go-to guy'. While Cutler is guilty of holding the ball for far too long, Martz is guilty of prioritizing long throws in his play calling.....and in most of those cases, the line sucked so badly, that protection broke down before it even was established. I really think the cure is to spread the passing routes across the field 5 - 10 yards...and re-define deep as being 15-20 yards. Ethically speaking, Martz needs to realize this ain't St. Louis....and they have to protect their QB's LIFE as best they can with what they got up front in Chicago.
