My use of the iPad is really task based.

I use it almost exclusively now for email because I can sit in a comfortable
seat with it on my lap and still be comfortable (ie not scorch anything
important). Also, while relaxing I use it for Twitter because I can follow
links comfortably and reading rss feeds.

I use it to download and store information like the 2 nice PDFs that Joel
provided a little while ago. I can read/use them wherever now.

I keep a lot of lists in Googles Task tool (part of mail) and I use GeeTasks to
edit them and access them from my iPad even when not connected. I have a
similar app on my Android phone.

I use Bookmarks to access and add bookmarks to my Delicious bookmarks.

I also use it a lot for relaxation. I am really hooked on sudoku now (I have to
get better than everyone else :-) ). I am playing a product called "Enjoy
Sudoku" a lot because it not only allows you to play the game but also teaches
it. I also play a lot of Software Dlx. And up here on Beaver island we use the
Netflix App to stream to out TV.

I also had a Geneology program on here called GedView but haven't had much time
to use it since I loaded it.

I use Goodreader all the time both to store and sort/organize all types of
documents and also to download all kinds of stuff from serious like the PDFs
this AM to things like the free jazz album download that was mentioned in an
RSS feed yesterday as just having been recorded at the Green Mill. Download @:
http://jonesjazz.com/store.html. In it I have all the critical documents
relating to the projects I am working on.

There are also a bunch of tools I find useful:

For working with PDFs : iAnnotatePDF
Great outliner: CarbonFin Outliner
Mindmapping: iThoughtHD
Drafting: iPocketDraw
Photo editing: Photopad to do basic editing specially of grabbed iPad screens
before presenting them.
Artstudio seems to have a lot more tools but I haven't
learned it yet
Network: iNet, NetDetective, Scanner (iPhone apps)

There are more but this old guy is tired.
