This is definitely an 'end user' product designed for twitter/facebook/etc.
type end users. I am sure if the thing can be made more shatter resistant,
the prospects for using it in curriculum would improve.

It's really cool looking. Kindle rocks on it. That said, I have never used
my iPad for anything more than Kindle. The possibility to download a bunch
of O'Reilly on this bad boy....if they'd ever get the Safari app
developed.....looks promising. I been waiting for a bit now. You can
download ebooks - yes - but that experience is less than pleasant and for
the end user, I would bet the majority don't even venture into that mess.

That was the good.....Now, the bad - from a dyed in the wool PC fan....lol.

The touchscreen keypad is a farce for my carpal tunnel inflicted meat hooks
to try to manipulate. That in itself is the biggest frustration and
deterrent for me to use it. Professionally, for me anyway, it just doesn't
feel like I should be using it to do real work with just to prove to the PC
world that I can. I'm not that dedicated to Apple. lol. So for me, it's
just a novelty.

Also, the lack of Flash is seriously problematic for this kind of device
with how it's marketed.....- and I think, will cause even more marketability
problems if HTML 5 support doesn't move along quicker to save Job's hind
end. There should be no question that this device should have Flash
support. Ridiculous. Either Adobe or Jobs - don't care who...and neither
does the end user.....needs to get their head out of where they sit and
realize that the end user experience is based on not who violates who's
code, or licensing structure....etc........but is based on if it just
works. Instead, Adobe and Jobs - BOTH - got all pigheaded (which is way
worse when geeks have that condition - because instead of being perceived as
geeks....they degrade themselves to just being dorks to the end user). As a
result, the end user is 'rewarded' with a handicapped iPad experience.
