No, don't do that. Do what I suggested instead. Install the latest one. I.e. go to http://www.freenetproject.org/snapshots/freenet-webinstall.exe This will install the latest version of the software. I would very much like to know if this fixes the bug you were seeing with stopping freenet / shutting down Windows. If you don't test it, and no-one else tests it, then we will never find out if your bug is fixed! I don't think any of the Freenet developers have access to Windows ME so this is very important to us, to you, and to the Freenet community in general! For the record, it "was broke" which is why we've tried "fixing it", but it seems the fix didn't work on Windows ME.
