Firstly, could you send me a copy of your FLaunch.ini file? Or in fact you could try deleting your flaunch.ini file and trying again. With the latest version of freenet.exe there's very little in flaunch.ini that's actually critical.
Secondly this discussion should really be on the support@ list, not the tech@ list (which is more suited to technical discussions on such topics as privacy, encryption, the Freenet architecture and the potential of attacks that may compromise anonymity or Freenet itself). If you reply, reply to [EMAIL PROTECTED] not [EMAIL PROTECTED] > Dave; I downloaded Freenet from the link in your reply, and here is > exactly what happens, after downloading and running the install, if I open > Control Panel, and open ADD/REMOVE PROGRAMS, Freenet is NOT listed. Did the installation succeed or fail? If Freenet is not listed, it would suggest the installation failed. Perhaps try deleting the program files in your freenet directory (freenet.exe, flaunch.ini, nodeconfig.exe, freenet.jar, freenet-ext.jar) and running the installer again. > Like > before,I went back to desktop and opened Freenet,it seem to run > slowly....Then when I try to close Freenet....It will NOT close. What > happens is the icon in the tray say's PLEASE WAIT FREENET IS CLOSING, but > it won't close, THEN I get an error window telling me that WINDOWS CANNOT > CLOSE THIS PROGRAM...CLOSE PROGRAM WITH THE PROPER QUIT COMMAND. Did you uninstall the old version before installing the new one? Obviously this shouldn't be necessary but there could potentially be some issues or unexpected interactions of which we are not yet aware if you upgrade from certain old versions of the software. > When I > install the version 0.5.0.7_01 (with the RED RABBIT icon) Freenet works > PERFECTLY,and if I check the Installed Programs list in ADD/REMOVE > PROGRAMS, Freenet IS listed. Leave me know if this helps. Keep in touch. You would be well advised to persevere and keep trying with the latest version. We are keen to roll out the latest software in the next stable release and installing an old version does not help our efforts. We appreciate the problems you may be having at this time and are thankful for your reports. d _______________________________________________ Tech mailing list [EMAIL PROTECTED] http://hawk.freenetproject.org:8080/cgi-bin/mailman/listinfo/tech
