Hello LOPSA-Techies,
We have a research dept here that's looking for a 24-port
10Gbps-per-port switch at a good price point. They would like a
managed switch (does anyone even make a 10G unmanaged switch??) They
do not have Cisco/Juniper/HP budget ;) Can anyone suggest something
that may fit their needs?
Thanks all,
Will

Force10 (actually 48 ports), Fujitsu, Arista, Blade.
We have a blade. It's a little bit weird syntax but fast. We also have
some of the 48 port 10 g Force10 stackable switches with SFP. Very nice
switch. Arista is the industry leader at the moment. Fujitsu is lesser
known but may be able to fit your bill. The blade is actually exactly 24
ports and may suit you.
(The force10 has 4x 40G uplinks if that matters at all)
You didn't mention whether you want SFP or 10GbaseT or CX4, that will
significantly influence your price. The best choice currently is SFP+,
no optics or transceivers required and more choices are available.
