The upfront cost can be somewhat cheaper than HP, depending on how you factor in support. HP provides "lifetime" warranties and support as part of the base cost, whereas Arista requires that you renew support on a yearly basis. The five year cost with support factored in comes out roughly equal against the equivalent HP switch.
