Thank you for the reply.

I am more focused on the Monitoring platforms as of now.

I have downloaded the OpenNMS Sans Effort (
http://www.ose-distrib.org/en.html) & Fully Automated Nagios CDs.(
http://www.fullyautomatednagios.org/). I am open to any
suggestion/recomendations.

Any step by step guide will be appreciated for both platforms.

Primary requirements-

Monitor the Network Devices- Routers(cisco/nortel), L2.L3 switches,
firewalls (juniper/fortigate) etc; overall LAN & WAN performance.
Monitor the Server Hardware- IBM System X/BladeCentre, HP Prolient, Dell
PowerEdge Servers etc
Monitor Windows Servers 2003/2008 & Clients Win XP/Win 7 etc
Monitor Linux Servers - RHEL/SuSe

For the test lab, I will monitor following things-

1 IBM X3850 Server - running VMWare esx
1 IBM DS4300 Storage
1 HP Procurve Switch
1 Fortinet firewall
3-4 clients - Win XP, Win 7

please help...
