I have downloaded the OpenNMS Sans Effort ( http://www.ose-distrib.org/en.html) & Fully Automated Nagios CDs.( http://www.fullyautomatednagios.org/). I am open to any suggestion/recomendations. Any step by step guide will be appreciated for both platforms. Primary requirements- Monitor the Network Devices- Routers(cisco/nortel), L2.L3 switches, firewalls (juniper/fortigate) etc; overall LAN & WAN performance. Monitor the Server Hardware- IBM System X/BladeCentre, HP Prolient, Dell PowerEdge Servers etc Monitor Windows Servers 2003/2008 & Clients Win XP/Win 7 etc Monitor Linux Servers - RHEL/SuSe For the test lab, I will monitor following things- 1 IBM X3850 Server - running VMWare esx 1 IBM DS4300 Storage 1 HP Procurve Switch 1 Fortinet firewall 3-4 clients - Win XP, Win 7 please help...
