I'll say very little about OSX Server, except:  OSX Server is the devil.
One of the worst products I wish I never paid for.  To be fair, I cannot say
beyond a doubt that the OS was the fault.  It is possible that I suffered a
bizarre hardware failure in Apple server ... but I would say extremely
unlikely.

If you have a processor that is partially burnt out, that makes mistakes and
acts like it's hallucinating... then usually that processor will burn out
over time, you replace it, and suddenly your machine is stable again (you
may have to reinstall the OS).  But no such thing happened for me on that
machine, over 2 years.  And the server was/is the most unstable hunk of junk
since Windows 98 or OS 9.

As for security ... I wouldn't even recommend facing OSX Server to the LAN.
Nevermind the WAN.
