There are a number of companies that sell used and refurbished Sun SPARC
hardware.  You can get a decent SPARC machine for $150-$500 that will give
several years of service (anysystem.com, which I've used for years, has
used 280R models for $300, and desktop Blade 100s for $235 right now). 
Keyboard and monitor optional: use the Remote console (some server-class
machines, like 280) or serial port to configure, login through SSH from
your favorite workstation OS.
