I assume you mean via http.  FWIW, apache is much more powerful than
svnserve, but it's also slower and more difficult to set up.  The man
reasons to use http instead of svnserve are:  (a) you want logging of access
(b) you want authentication methods that are unavailable in svnserve

I don't know any others...
