Hi Martin The glasses only work on obstacles that are about head high. There basic principal is that an ultrasonic sensor sends out a continuous stream of signals and a receiving sensor catches those signals reflected back of objects which are in their path. It' really a very basic idea which, until recently, has been quite difficult to implement.
I will let you know when they arrive just how effective or otherwise they are. Gordon On 29 Jun 2012, at 17:50, Martin McCormick <[email protected]> wrote: Please let us know how they work out. I would think that branches or cables might be difficult as they do not reflect much but the idea is sound, no pun intended, well maybe a little. Sometimes I wish I was taller than the 5-foot 8 I am, but the message from David reminded me otherwise. We used to have a lot of signs around here that were lower than 6 feet or about 2 meters and I used to get a free shave and or haircut from time to time. Then, one would walk under a low branch and all that blood would be nicely brushed off so you looked great when you got where you were going. Now that's design. ======================================= The Techno-Chat E-Mail forum is guaranteed malware, spyware, Trojan, virus and worm-free To modify your subscription options, please visit for forum's dedicated web pages located at http://mail.tft-bbs.co.uk/mailman/listinfo/techno-chat You can find an archive of all messages posted to the Techno-Chat group at either of the following websites: http://mail.tft-bbs.co.uk/pipermail/techno-chat/index.html Or: <http://www.mail-archive.com/[email protected]> you may also subscribe to this list via RSS.
