Hello David

The available options depend upon the address you enter. Please try it with
our server. Don't put the "https" on the front, just use files.mac-access.net.
The software makes assumptions if you use the full prefix. But on the Mac, I
can definitely definitely tell you that if you set the option in the Protocol
box to ftp/sftp, make sure that the port is set to 21, it super definitely
works.

I haven't yet tried the latest Windows version, but will do so this evening.

What version are you using? On my windows version there is no option to
change protocol. There is a dialogue entitled new drive but the only
options are to enter a drive name. server address, user name and password. .
. .
On the version I installed on the Mac there is an option to change protocol
but the only options are SSH, and 2 option which are, I think, from memory
are Amazon and Strongdrive.

I can check with the developers whether this change to FTP is
accessible/possible now but it may be that we are using different versions
of the program.

The program has just disappeared and will not reload so I will not be able
to get my version number until after a restart.

Hi again all concerned.

OK, I've just tried this and yes, WebDAV has indeed been removed. However,
using SFTP on port 21, I have securely and reliably managed to connect to
our server via the Internet. It's very fast actually and very reliable. So
it is't such a big deal as I had thought it was going to be. It works
perfectly.

if anybody would like to try it with our server, feel free. First, download
and install ExpanDrive for your platform. Next, click the "New Drive"
button. In the protocol dialogue, change the protocol from ftp/ssh to
sftp/ftp. Then in the server name field, enter:
files.mac-access.net
Make sure the port is set to 21. Then, change the path to "/", (that is a
forward slash). That will allow the server to dictate where you are and not
produce an error. Then, in the user and password fields, enter "software",
in lower case and without the quotes.

If you have an account on our server, just enter your own user data and
you're good to go.

Gordon
