Hi all

OK, I wonder if anybody else has had these issues with the Jaws installer.

First off, when you run the installer, it creates a lot of system restore
points, regardless of whether you want them or not. In my case, I do not use
the Microsoft System Restore utility as I have a better way of doing it. I use
RollBack from Data Horizon Systems.

Anyway, back to the point. When I see these restore points created, Jaws then
does a force restart of the system. At this point, you'd expect the installer
to resume upon restart. No such luck! It just goes back to the Windows
desktop. So, I re-ran the installer. This tie, it came up with a temporary
copy of Jaws running in demo mode, despite the presence of a Jaws dongle
authorised for the latest version.

The system just sat there doing absolutely nothing with Jaws until, eventually,
I got a warning that the programme was about to close and that I'd have to
reboot to use Jaws again.

Rebooting took me back to the desktop and Jaws wasn't installed at all. A
third re-run of the installer yielded the exact same results. So I opted to
roll back my system and start over. Same thing happened second time of asking.

So basically, I haven't been able to install Jaws at all, and I'm distinctly
unimpressed by their pathetic attempts to create an installer. Maybe next time
they should try asking people if they want their system totally changed just to
suit Jaws. It was fortunate that I had RollBack to save me all the work of a
re-install of Windows.
