Actually, Gordon, I like the idea of having techno chat as is, where Windows is welcomed along with other tech related things.

BTW, just wonderring. Would Android discussion be ok on the techno chat list, as long as it's kept within a minimal reason?

Chris.

Hello Chris

Yes, it can. But we do try to have people join the specialist groups if possible. I know this is a little bit of a grey area because there’s an inconsistency here. We do definitely say “No Apple Chat Please!”. Maybe we should do that with Windows as well. Actually we did intend to do that, it just kind of never happened.

So Im not currently saying “No Windows”, just gently reminding people that the group exists specifically for that purpose.

I’m sorry this is less than clear at the moment.

Kindest regards

Hi all

I really don’t like the concept of cross-posting. But I’m aware that there are some members of this group who are not subscribed to Windows-Access, the sister group to Mac-Access. So before I completely go against my own preferences, let me briefly give the group details as to how to join our sister group.

Send a message to:
[email protected]
with the word “Subscribe”, without the quotes, in the subject line. Then, just respond to the authentication post which you’ll be sent immediately by our server, and let rip!

Speaking of let rip, I shall now proceed to doing so. I beg the forgiveness of those who are already members of our sister group. I promise I’ll never ever ever ever ever do this again, LOL!

It’s been so long since I played around with this, that I cannot remember if or whether this issue was resolved. Inside of a VM under VMWAre’s Fusion for Mac, how does one get around the thorny issue of the caps lock being used as an NBVDA, Jaws or other screen-reader key? Clearly, I’m going to have to find a way of re-mapping the caps lock key to something else so that there’s an option to use this inside of the VM. What I mean is I’m going to have to find a way to simulate the caps lock key. Did anybody else manage this?

I am aware of Sharp Keys, but I don’t want to go down that road if I can avoid it. Hopefully there’s a way around this issue. I would have no problem with using the option key as a caps lock, or something of that ilk.

Kindest regards

Gordon
