LeRoy, yes I just read your new post. 2 things. 1st. that would be GREAT if you have another unit you can usr as a jig set-up.
2nd. Depending on which one is easier, if you don't have an eeprom right at hand, I would 1st (if not to complicated) go right ahead and hook chassis up to jig set-up with a different yoke and test it while your waiting for your eeprom. (be killing 2 birds with one stone, so to speak), Looking foreward to your findings... See my recall post on the list. Keep your fingers crossed,...cause I'll be checking it for a bad yoke soon. I'll re-post after I'm sure of the problem. Another one bites the dust... Now i'll just add to my files.! Thanks "joe" ================================== Joe, and All, Replacing the Vertical output U4501 ( OEM # 215531, TDA8172 ), fixed the problem. I guess I should have replace it before making a post, but it kinda threw me a curve ball. Thanks to all who responded, LLW LeRoy Westlund ================================== LeRoy, Been awhile, but have seen, if TOP HALF stays totally unaffected, and LOWER HALF horiz freq. way off (not just slightly). problem was definitely yoke or fly but (memory...???) says YOKE. I believe that has a bonded one to boot.... If so, you can remove it, and visually see problem area.... (yes I have removed bonded yokes)..... save as last resort, but at the same time if you have experienced removal of these yokes, it can be a relatively ez but a little timely check.. My Input, Your Job... GL "joe" ================================== Hi Members, This CTC177BH3 chassis has a good picture for 30 minutes, then suddenly the bottom half of the raster goes into horz. lines, and has a vertical jitter. Lines are thicker at the top, and less thick as you progress down to the bottom. The top half of the picture remains perfect, and is not affected. I tried cooling the Vert IC, and associated e-caps, etc,...but, it does not bring the picture back to normal. I have done the tuner wrap soldering, and everything is tight. Any suggestions are greatly appreciated.
