Thanks Wayne & Jeff,
Unit currently testing, took your advise Jeff and gave it the torch.
Also believe I isolated bad connection(s) to the points around CP514 &
IP510, front middle of signal board. In fact on the ground side of IP510
if look very close you could see a very very hairy hairline line, and
that was the most sensitive area. Now we'll just play it till i'm
confident enough to deliver.

Thanks "joe"

You can use a solder station if you have a good one. I have no problems
soldering or desoldering. I use Pace rework stations.

Joe,
DO not use a soldering iron directly on those pin connections. Doing so
will likely just lift the solder from the pads. Use a torch or heat gun
to reflow the solder. Jeff

I have to say this first. No one can deny the fact of going on a service
call on a set they are not familiar with the layout of all the boards
and adjustment controls etc. But yet you are the expert and thats why
the cust called you. So now you have to study and figure out all of this
in front of the cust without having that puzzled look. We've all had to
bluff are way through this situation at one time or another and don't
deny it... I consider myself pretty good at doing this. Never had the
nerve to but always had the thought of: Take the back off of the set,
scratch my head while saying "Damn theres allot of wires in here....
c'mon, you gotta admit thats funny... OK DON"T...!!!

The only reason I mentioned that short ha, ha, is when I was in cust
home on this unit I had a hell of a time getting the green crt socket
board off because of the tar silicon seal was on there pretty heavy and
i was being as delicate as possible not to do any damage while removing
the board.

Well after removal of the board and giving a visual inspection, I put it
back on and unit would not fire up now. Bluff time..... Now that I have
the unit in shop, come to find out that when I did the board removal in
the custs home one of the plugs on the back part of the crt board had
come off. Replaced plug, unit fired and so did green crt come on and is
still playing.

So Jeff, I believe you where correct about the soldering of the board,
which I will do tomorrow and test play for a few days... Will let you
all know outcome after delivered.

Thanks to all you who responded. And again a big Thanks to Wayne for the
info on disassembling. Great Group "joe"

RCA PTV D52W19
Service Call approx 25 miles outside my regular area, Tues. 7/20. I am
most likely going to shop lite box unless something simple.

Cust swears chassis # to be (ITC222...i'm guessing CTC222...???). They
bought 11/2003 (Wal-Mart).

Complaint: Colors not right, no purple or green, sounds like screening
problem...
Does anyone have any info re: this model... i am clueless... "joe"
