Wayne, We are talking on the ITC222/ATC221 solder pads for the ribbon cables.... Per RCA trainer, a soldering iron will just lift the solder off the pad. I had a desoldering iron I can use for hot air as well...and it has repaired one so far. You can use a solder station if you have a good one. I have no problems soldering or desoldering. I use Pace rework stations.
