Position: Security Admin Location: Washington, DC Duration: 24-36 Months + Rate: $40-50 (DOE) Job Description: Background An integral part of the security program is the assurance that all servers connected to the network maintain an acceptable level of security. To that end, INFOSEC has developed a system certification program that provides a mechanism for evaluating the security of systems, including servers, wireless networks, and network devices such as printers and workstations before they are connected to the network. The goal of the program is to audit each system before it is added to the network, then once every two years thereafter or when a major change occurs (i.e., new operating system is installed or new security vulnerability is discovered). Once an Office has purchased a system and applied the appropriate audit checklist, INFOSEC. Audits the system or device to ensure compliance with the appropriate checklist and documents the findings. Runs a vulnerability scan and documents the findings. Notifies the Office of the results of the audit and scan, and provides advice and guidance to the Office in resolving vulnerabilities as needed. Issues a temporary approval or system certification (paper or electronic) as appropriate. Updates the audit databases and archives copies of all paperwork.. Scope INFOSEC requires onsite contractor support in completing the audit steps described above. The contractor shall complete these steps for systems under the operational control of Member Offices, Committee and Leadership Offices, and the Chief Administrative Officer. The contractor also will develop new and revise existing security checklists, and security certification documentation to include policies, processes, and procedures. Candidate Qualification & Experience s technically qualified as a systems administrator and has at least five years experience with Windows XP, Windows Vista, Windows 2000, Windows 2003, Windows 2008, and Active Directory; Is familiar with Unix, Oracle, and SQL. Has experience conducting security audits and reviews Has experience using the scanning tools MBSA, Secunia, HEAT, Nessus, and various port scanners. Has experience in penetration testing of wireless networks. Has extensive experience with various services such as SMTP, SNMP, Telnet, SSH, and FTP. Has knowledge of various web services such as IIS4-6, Apache, and SunOne. Has experience managing other members of team conducting similar work. Deliverables 1.Completed audit checklist. 2.Results of vulnerability scan. 3.Advice and assistance to the Office in resolving vulnerabilities (as needed). 4.Updated audit database.
