I also suggested some changes without much result. However, I am in
contact with a TWiki developer (Andrea Sterbini) who has written some
fancy stuff (like the plugin module).

So I definitively branch out from TWiki. I needed a working wiki to
experiment with (for instance, to have an idea of what a LaTeX pluging
could be implemented) and I tried not to touch the code too much.

After having decided that the wiki solution was what I was looking for
(teaching math and physics, producing scientific documentation), I
realized that it would be not easy
to convince the TWiki people. So, when have free time I
continue hacking the twiki code.

Clearly, it would be very nice to start over from scratch, but I don't
think to have enough time in the near future.

If anybody is interested, Andrea Sterbini and myself wrote a paper
about web and teaching using TWiki, and I could share my ideas
about a tt-based wiki.
